Fantastic opportunity for a yacht chef to work on land in a varied role for a private owner as Owner Personal Chef/Restaurant Chef.
The chef will be based in Hong Kong and work as personal chef in the owner’s home, in their offices and also in their 2 Japanese restaurants as required.
Chef will split time equally between the restaurants and cooking for the owner.
The other owner’s chef has worked for the owner for 15 years so it’s a very good owner to work for.
The 2 owner’s chefs will travel according to the needs of the owner. From Hong Kong to Europe or SE Asia so flexibility is needed.
The owner has yachts as well and you might be asked to cook onboard.
The overseas trips are 2-4 trips per annum and your base will be in Hong Kong.
The client is looking for a chef who might have 2-3 years of yacht chef experience and at least 3 years in kitchens on land before this working in fine dining restaurants.
The boss eats out in top restaurants around the globe but is also happy with causal dining as well as of course dinner parties and fine dining at home or on his yacht.
Obviously an interest in learning specific Japanese cuisine and being taught by Japanese Master Chefs in the 2 restaurants in Hong Kong.
Both kitchens are open kitchens so chef must be happy to work in an open environment and sometimes might be asked to assist with front of house as well.
This is a permanent year round role based in Hong Kong.
A 1 bed apartment allowance is offered as well as a salary in HKD and 1 round trip flight per annum.
A work visa for Hong Kong will be arranged for you.
